Process Technology

The process engineering group is involved in industrial continuous transport and conditioning processes, high volume air conditioning, closed loop steam processes for mobile applications and river reach and canal management. In all of these fields of application, distributed parameter systems and methods are used for modelling, simulation, feedforward and feedback control design.

Optimized Water Management
  • Development of a decission support system for the operation center Rothensee
  • Securing of tight navigable water levels
  • Minimization of energy intensive pump procedures
Intelligent Fiber-Optic Gas Sensors for Chemical Process Technology
  • Development of fiber-optic sensors for detection of different tracer gasses
  • Development of estimation procedures for determination of gas concentrations of various gas mixtures


Student's Theses

We are always looking for students, who want to contribute to one of our research projects through a bachelor's or master's thesis. The assigned subjects typically include but are not limited to:

  • Distributed-parameter modeling of mechanical, electric and thermodynamic systems.
  • Solving inverse mathematical problems.
  • Methods of constrained and unconstrained optimization.
