Description

The lecture covers basic methods for systems with distributed parameters. Common modelling approaches are introduced. Distributed parameter systems are analyzed and solved using suitable approaches. The focus is on methods for solving partial differential equations including the modal transformation, the Green's function method, the product approach and the method of characteristics. The methods taught in the lecture are explained in the exercises using specific examples, e.g. heat conduction, bending of Euler-Bernoulli beams, transport systems and wave equation.
