- Research interests: medical engineering, system dynamics, control theory
My project focuses on tissue differentiation based on electrical impedance spectroscopy.
Biological tissue is a complex compound of different cells whose structures determine the impedance of the examined sample. The growth of a tumor results in changes in these characteristic structures and hence in an altered electrical impedance. Relevant parameters need to be identified and later classified with a combination of model-based and learning-based algorithms.
